My working knowledge about herbs and essential oils came out of a necessity to support my body through the healing process. It became apparent that the use of chemicals or synthetic medicines during the cleansing process would only add to the already toxic condition I was trying to clean up. The first book I read on the subject was Aromatherapy by Jean Valnet. Little did I know that Dr. Valnet is a pioneer in the field of Aromatherapy. Since then, I have completed the course "Aromatherapy for Health Professionals" by Jane Buckle, R.N., you can check out her book " Clinical Aromatherapy in Nursing ". Although this does not make me an expert in the field, it has given me sufficient knowledge to safely use essential oils for family, clients, and myself.

  • Aromatherapy is one of the fastest growing forms of complimentary medicine today. It involves the inhalation or application of pure essential oils produced by aromatic plants. They are naturally occurring substances produced by these plants for various reasons, i.e., to protect themselves from harsh climates and disease, to attract insects for pollination, and to resist predators. Essential oils are very concentrated substances, and each contains approx. 100 chemical components. It is the synergistic effect of these compounds that give essential oils their healing and supporting capabilities. If used correctly, essential oils can be a valuable tool to support and assist you on your path to better health.
  • There are many ways to use essential oils. The choice of application will depend on what you are trying to accomplish. For instance, if you were suffering from nasal congestion, taking a hot bath with essential oils, or doing a facial steam bath and directly inhaling the oils, would probably be more effective than doing a foot bath with the same essential oils. There is much controversy concerning just how aromatherapy works. I will refrain from going into this debate, however I will say, I know aromatherapy works, I use it all the time with a great amount of effectiveness. If you would like more information concerning this subject, please contact me. I will be glad to share with you what information I have available.
  • It is common knowledge today that the over use and abuse of antibiotics has caused the advent of "super bugs". It is exciting to me to know that most essential oils are anti-microbial and antiseptic. Many oils, such as lavender and geranium, seem to have skin rejuvenating properties. Through olfaction, essential oils can stimulate the production of hormones and help to control appetite, body temperature, and other body functions. According to Sylla Sheppard Hangar, "The reason to use essential oils as treatments is because bio-dynamic phyto-chemicals inherent in essential oils have beneficial pharmocological bearing on every physiological level down to the RNA-DNA chain. Their anti-microbial (anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal), anti-oxidant and anti-mutagenic bases reveal themselves in their roles played as detoxicants, regenerators, and regulators in the treatment of many various physiologic disorders of a symptomatic nature. In addition, their preventative value as immune stimulants helps the human system maintain optimum health levels in an ever-increasing hostile environment by neutralizing pathogens and facilitating antigen receptors."
  • I have found the use of essential oils to be of great benefit during the detoxification process. Since each person and each body is unique, I hesitate to formulate a product line of standard aromatherapy blends. Instead, I choose to become familiar with each person and their needs, blending a personalized formula just for them. To order ESSENTIAL SUPPORT PERSONALIZED BLENDS refer to the product page, fill out the AROMATHERAPY EVALUATION, and I will be in touch with you concerning your own personalized blend.
